morning glories

the seeds settled
haphazardly
on the dark, brown earth
pieces of gold
rich, with hope
that life would
tangle itself
into beautiful bouquets
open,
every morning
and close,
every evening
quiet reminders
of how everything
that ends
must first,
begin

the ebb & flow

I've spent the month of March living in poems. I loved the reason for every word - it fed my soul.

This morning though, as I searched for words, I couldn't find any. I thought, maybe its time to begin something new in April. But then I remembered - April is the official month of poetry and its Spring. That's my answer to everything lately - its Spring. How can anyone be at a loss for words when its so lush outside?

When I think of Spring, I remember Nariwa. While driving towards Koreatown to Olympic Spa, I remembered the balcony that extended from my apartment bedroom. Grey, dreary balcony. I dusted the railings, hung my blankets and futons out to dry in the sun. And made a space for a bed of flowers that Spring. I needed that memory. Its good to remember that I had once been able to plant and nurture a beautiful living thing.
